More than half of Americans support impeachment trump, a poll showed

MOSCOW, Nov 5 - RIA News. More than half of US residents supported the idea of initiating the impeachment of US leader Donald Trump. This is evidenced by a public opinion poll commissioned by WSJ and NBC.

55 percent of respondents agree with the initiative of the Democratic Party, 24 percent of them believe that there are sufficient grounds for the procedure.

About a third of the survey participants opposed. They believe that the American leader should act before the expiration of his term.

It is noted that the approval rating of Trump's work is 43 percent and remains unchanged.

Earlier, the Democrats began impeachment proceedings. They accused Trump of putting pressure on his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Zelensky, seeking an investigation for ex-vice president Joe Biden and his family.

Trump distributed a transcript of the conversation, from which it follows that he really asked Zelensky to “study” Biden’s case. At the same time, the US president said that he had not done anything illegal and was only fulfilling his duty to fight corruption.
