The kid will not play for at least two months due to injury

Latvian hockey striker Mārtiņš Dzierkals will be unable to play for at least eight weeks due to injury, reports Latvian Television's "Sporta Studija".

Dzierkals hasn't been on the pitch since November 1, playing Rauma "Lukko" on ice for just 23 seconds.

"The hockey player in the Finnish High League's game against Lukko broke his knee medial chain link. A Latvian striker is expected to spend at least eight weeks without a hockey," Sporta Studija wrote in a good post on Facebook.

He has been on the pitch in 13 games with five assists and a negative efficiency rating of -2.

The Latvian hockey player has signed a one-year contract with the Finnish club.

Last season, 22-year-old Dzierkals scored five goals in 42 games for the Dinamo in Riga and made eight assists for the KHL's Best New Player of the Season award.
