Martin Wilson, as a guest of honor, travels thousands of kilometers far to the festival in Russia

Actor Martins Wilson (64) has recently traveled several thousand kilometers to the Russian border town of Blagoveshchensk, where one of the largest theater and film festivals in the neighboring country took place.

"That city, on the very border of China, was a little smaller than Riga," Wilson told Jauns.lv. “As it turns out, Blagoveshchensk is also located near Tinda, the capital of the Baikal-Amur railway highway, where I served in the Russian army. Its memories are quite difficult and sorrowful, ”says the actor, who has been invited to the festival as an honorary guest. Wilson boasts, “You know me in Russia!” Revealing that he had to watch shows and movies every day.

“During meetings with the audience, I sang songs to them and told them about my life in Latvia. Various shows, events, sightseeing tours take place during the festival - the program is very extensive. Everything is planned there by day, by hour. There are also various themed tents where prominent artists tell about their lives and their art, ”Wilson sketches the festival, which is currently featured in the movie" Soul of Souls "on home screens.

“What are my benefits of taking a ten thousand kilometer flight by plane to get to the festival? These are films that I see that remain in memory that make me grow professionally. You can see how to get inspired. And new contacts have been made, acquaintances, because I have realized many times - everything is most important in personal contacts. You only need to have personal contacts to get into or get to a project somewhere. ”
